How to turn your photo into a puzzle

Three steps, and you see the finished puzzle before you order.

    A gift tin, a black gift box, a picture box or the kids’ puzzle, from 30 to 2,000 pieces. Every size shows its price and finished size.

    Upload and arrange your photos

    Use one photo or a collage of up to 20, depending on the size. Crop, zoom, rotate and add text, and see how well your photo prints at each size.

    We print and ship it

    Your puzzle is made to order and ships free within the US. Estimated delivery is 12–15 business days after you order.

Will my photo print sharply?

After you upload, the creator measures your photo against the size you choose and shows one of three results.

    200 dpi or more

    at the finished size.

  • Fine for most photos

    120 to 199 dpi

    at the finished size.

  • Low resolution

    Under 120 dpi

    The print may look blurry, so we ask you to confirm before you order.

The creator also marks the largest size that still prints at great quality as Best fit for your photo.

As a guide, a typical 12-megapixel phone photo (4,032 × 3,024 pixels) prints at great quality up to 252 pieces, fine for most photos from 500 to 1,014 pieces, and at low resolution on the 2,000-piece puzzle.

Choose a collage of 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12, 16 or 20 photos, in a grid, with one large photo, or in mixed rows. The size sets the maximum: up to 4 photos on 30 to 110 pieces, 5 on 252, 8 on 500 and 520, 12 on 1,000 and 1,014, and 20 on 2,000 pieces.

How much does a custom puzzle cost?

Prices range from $24.99 to $89.99, depending on the puzzle and the number of pieces. Every price includes free standard shipping within the US, and a collage costs the same as a single photo.

How do I get a custom puzzle made from my photo?

Choose a puzzle and size, upload your photo and arrange it in the creator. You see how well it prints at every size before you add it to your cart, and we make the puzzle to order.

What kind of photo works best?

A sharp, well-lit photo with your subject in focus. Phone photos work well. You need at least 1,200 pixels on the long side, and the creator shows the print quality for every size. Keep faces and text inside the dotted line, because the edge of the puzzle is trimmed.

How long does delivery take?

Each puzzle is made to order, which takes up to 10 business days, and then ships free within the US in 2–5 business days. The creator shows an estimated delivery date range before you order. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed date.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Yes, until your order goes into production. Email support@custompuzzle.org as soon as you can.

What if my puzzle arrives damaged, misprinted or wrong?

Send us a photo within 30 days of delivery and we will reprint it or refund you. Because every puzzle is personalized, we can’t refund a change of mind.

Do you ship outside the US?

Not at the moment. We ship to addresses in the United States only.

What happens to my photos?

Your photos are stored privately and used to make your puzzle. Designs you don’t order are deleted after 30 days.
